COMPETITION

This is the 2nd annual RPH Horsemanship/Trail Obstacle Competition! Day 1 will be a horsemanship clinic that is required for all who participate in the competition on day 2. Day 2 will be the obstacle competition on the trails. There will be 10 obstacles. This is NOT a timed event but there will be a time limit at each obstacle. Each obstacle will have a judge using a rubric (designed by Robbie) to determine success. Participants may bring more than 1 horse.

There will be three divisions for horses in the competition:
*First place prize in each division will be a belt buckle. Second place prize - TBD.

  • 2 to 3 year olds

  • 4 to 6 year olds

  • 7+ year olds

Saturday, May 17 - Horsemanship clinic for all participating in the competition (required).

Sunday, May 18 - Obstacle competition on the trails (10 obstacles)

NOTE: All cabin reservations must be made with Springmaid Mountain. Please call 828-765-2353 or email info@springmaidmountain.com and ask to speak to Katie Carter to make reservations.

Fees

  • Day 1 Participant Fee: $250 (paid to RPH)
    *A $75 deposit is required at registration to secure your spot.

  • Day 2 Participant Fee: $45 per ride (paid to RPH)

  • Facility Fee: $20 per day (paid to facility)

  • Audit Fee: No Charge!

  • Stall Fee: Inside Stalls - $25 per night, Outside Stalls - $15 per night (paid to facility)

Facility and stall fees will be collected upon arrival.

 

Clinic FAQ’s

  • A participant will receive a full refund if cancellation is expressed 30 days prior to the said clinic (minus the non-refundable deposit).

    If a cancellation is received after the 30-day timeline, a refund will be refunded minus 25% of the balance owed, but not to include the non-refundable deposit.

    If a cancellation is received 7 days prior to the clinic, no money will be refunded.

  • A non-refundable deposit is due upon registration in order to secure your spot. The remaining clinic fee will be due 30 days prior to the clinic date.
